I went to an outdoor summer concert once of a country Western girls band, whom I should leave unnamed so I don’t lose credibility with the genteels (it was The Chicks,) and I ended up in a long bathroom line.  I moved in and out of the stall quickly, and the woman in line behind me who was, shall we say, a wee-bit-inebriated, loudly and proudly proclaimed me “The Fastest Pee-er in the West!” Yes, it’s true, thank you, thank you.

Even so, if there is ANYONE at home when I am in the loo, I swear to you 90% of the time I can not finish my business without someone calling for me wondering where I am.  “MOM!!!?”

Moms of littles truly don't get uninterrupted time. Need more evidence? Check out this 34 second video where a mom of toddlers hides in the pantry so she can eat her licorice treat undisturbed.  There’s a reason it went viral.

The next time you find yourself heading to the pantry though, try grabbing a 34 second meditation as your treat instead.

If you need to feel energized in an afternoon slump, take a long deep breath in with a short “ha” sound as you quickly breathe out, then repeat.

And if you need to feel calmed, focus on long slow exhales through your mouth - like you’re blowing a giant bubble.

Think of “MOM!!!?” as a delicate chiming yoga bell, bringing your attention back to the present.

And if all else fails, turn up The Chicks.
